We have an exciting opportunity for a Report Writer with experience in delivering accurate and informative reporting and a good knowledge of Power BI to join our MIS Team here at our York campus. This role will be a fixed term contract over 6 months to assist the team in developing reporting and KPI dashboards after the implementation of a new MIS system – ProSolution. Ideally the role will work on campus but there is the flexibility of some hybrid working if necessary.


This is a 6 month fixed term contract role.


We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for developing accurate and informative reporting across a range of college disciplines and in addition be responsible for the development of the HE KPI dashboard monitoring college and OfS performance indicators. Sector experience and knowledge specifically in Advanced’s Pro Suite and also knowledge of Higher Education performance indicators/funding will be beneficial.


The successful candidate will

Create robust reporting from the college base data to drive business intelligence in order to promote informed decisions across the college.
Develop and deliver the HE KPI dashboard on conjunction with the Academic services team.
Assist with any other requirements within the MIS reporting structure


Ideally with a Level 4 IT qualification, candidates should be fully conversant with Pro Suite systems, be proficient in the use of SQL, HTML and proficient in using MS Visual Studio, SSRS or MS Access reporting and Power BI.

Main Purpose of the role


To design and develop accurate Business Intelligence reports to meet the requirements of departments and colleagues within the college, translating information requirements into useful reporting. In addition, the role will require the development of a data dashboard to meet the needs of the colleges HE team using Power BI. This is a 6 -month fixed term role to support the existing team due to the implementation of a new MIS system.


Key Tasks / responsibilities:

To design, develop, deploy and maintain business intelligence reporting in support of improved quality, flexibility and efficiencies across the college to meet the needs of the organisation.
Work in partnership with College staff to enable them to clarify and define their information needs.
To translate business needs to technical specifications leading to new or refined business solutions.
To present uniform information through reports and visualisation to aid decision making across the college

To develop a data dashboard to meet the KPI requirements of the College HE provision including OfS data analysis using Power BI
