Salary: £40,876 rising to £42,711 per annum (Deputy Head Grade 1 & 2)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Deputy Head - Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering – Key Responsibilities:
As Deputy Head, you will be instrumental in delivering an innovative and impactful curriculum, with a particular focus on all Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, and Welding provision across our study programmes, apprenticeships and adult learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a talented delivery team to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment
- Collaborating with the Head of Faculty, Land based studies to implement a forward-thinking curriculum strategy
- Driving quality assurance through performance reviews, student and staff feedback, and best-practice sharing
- Supporting and developing staff through appraisals, professional development, and probation reviews
- Monitoring student performance and progression, promoting a culture of achievement
- Overseeing exam scheduling, cover arrangements, and timetabling to optimise resource efficiency
- Playing a pivotal role in staff recruitment, self-assessment processes, and quality improvement plans
Deputy Head - Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering – You:
- A degree in Land-Based Studies- Agriculture, Land Based Engineering or a related field
- A Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven educational leadership experience, with a track record of driving quality
- A strong commitment to inclusive education and student success
- Outstanding communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- A genuine passion for animals, nature, and countryside education
- An inspirational leadership style that motivates students and staff alike
- A problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and impact
